Awards Prof. Dr. Thomas Kuner wins BIAL Award in Biomedicine
Prestigious award for groundbreaking findings on brain tumors
Scientists from Heidelberg University, Heidelberg University Hospital and the German Cancer Research Center have discovered how nerve cells in the brain make contact with glioblastoma tumor cells and thus fuel their spread. The team, including our own Prof. Dr. Thomas Kuner has now been honored by the Portuguese BIAL Foundation with the highly endowed "BIAL Award in Biomedicine". The scientists received the award at a ceremony in Lisbon from the Portuguese Minister of Health.
